Models :

• retinal ischemia is induced using the suture ligation (SL) of the optic nerve model or the intraocular pressure elevation model (high IOP or HIOP)
• photoreceptor apoptosis in animal models of blue light damage (LD) or white light-induced retinal degeneration

Administration : topical ocular application, intravenous injection, intraperitoneal injection

Animals : albino or pigmented rabbits, rats

Evaluation :

• electroretinography (ERG) before and during ischemia, and then in reperfusion
• electroretinography (ERG) to evaluate the photodegeneration
• histology RPE or RGC

Reference substances : calcium channel blocker (ischemia), DMTU or PBN (photodegeneration)
